Students at Kaleen Primary School have the opportunity to represent the school in several sports and
many of these school teams have been very successful over the past years. These sports include
soccer, basketball, touch football, AFL, rugby league, rugby union, orienteering and netball.

The school holds its own athletics, swimming and cross country carnivals, from which the highest achievers
compete in the Belconnen Zone carnival. The highest achievers in these district carnivals go on to represent
the school in the ACT event. Many of the team sports also select students to play at various annual ACT sports
carnivals. The top competitors at the ACT carnivals may go on to represent the ACT in national events.

Kaleen Primary School takes great pride and enjoyment in participating in a wide range of sporting events and
competitions.  Sportsmanship, fair play and achieving personal best are qualities valued at Kaleen, and students
representing the school continue to make a name for the Kaleen in the sporting arena as fair but tough competitors.

Although Kaleen Primary School provides training and participation in a wide range of sports, it is never going to be
possible to cater for all students' sporting interests. However, several of the students from the school have gone on to
achieve outstanding results in these as well as in the sports provided for.
